With persistence, innovation and commitment, Kimberly, a native to the valley, opened Skin and Zen in 2010, having experienced working in a variety of spas and training under the tutorage of several master estheticians she brings a diversified back ground to this practice. At the heart of Kimberly’s success is a deep passion for skin care and commitment to education. Her philosophy has always been to reveal the natural beauty of the skin by offering the best possible skin care products and educating her clients on taking care of their skin from both the inside and outside.
Kimberly strives to provide each client superior personalized treatment in a relaxing and healing environment while enhancing each individual's natural beauty. She practices advanced techniques and uses the latest innovative technologies and products addressing every skin care concern from acne to aging. Bringing a unique soy based non-wax product like Nufree or the mineral makeup line from GloMinerals to the area are just few of the ways she is always on the lookout for new and innovative products that are the best for her clients of this practice. It was this love that led her in the direction of Reflexology having had her own positive experience she wanted to be able to share this very special therapy with others.
Focusing on continuing her education and finding ways she can improve her client’s wellbeing is one of her favorite parts of this practice. Completing her Master Esthetics License in February of 2011 added to the services she is able to perform for her clients: including chemical peels, micro-dermabrasion, micro-current and Manual Lymph Drainage for pre and post surgical clients.
Michelle Mohler, CMT - Certified Massage Therapist
Michelle has been in the medical field since 1998. Her journey began as a pharmacy technician, which later led to a career in the nursing field. Although these jobs were very rewarding, she was greatly concerned by the practice of over-prescribing pain medicine,
antibiotics and steroids, misuse by the consumer, and the great dependency that people place on pharmaceuticals. She felt there had to be alternative methods for pain management and this strong belief led her to discover the path to wellness through massage therapy.
Following her graduation from the Virginia School of Massage, she became nationally certified and acquired her Virginia State license to practice massage. She has worked along side other medical professionals as well as in a spa setting. She was eager to become a part of Skin and Zen and open her own massage practice in the summer of 2010. Michelle has exceptional skills to offer her clients; she helps each client develop a wellness plan to meet their individual needs. Not only does she offer total relaxation, she has great success with alleviating chronic pain as well as acute injuries and conditions. She specializes in neck and back pain management, Fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, sports injuries, hydrotherapy, allergy sinus relief and prenatal massage. Michelle has a passion for helping others and is eager to share her power of touch.
